Miles Kadlec was born on 9/9/2013 with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot (a combination of four heart defects). After many consultations with a pediatric cardiologist at UW-Madison Children’s Hospital, Miles' parents, Brandon and Hiedi Kadlec decided to travel to Alto Palo, California to have a surgery by Dr. Hanley at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Dr. Hanley is the surgeon who developed this surgery and is the only surgeon who performs it. Scary to say the least!!!!
Miles and his parents went to California, leaving on April 28th, 2018. Miles’ underwent many pre-op procedures and then had a 16 hour surgery on May 4th to repair his heart. On May 9th he was discharged to Ronald McDonald’s house…Yes, that is correct 5 days later this Heart Warrior was discharged!! After a final meeting with the surgeon, Miles was discharged from Dr. Hanley’s care and arrived at home on Sunday, May13th. He has been busy with follow up appointments with his pediatrician and cardiologist in Wisconsin.
Needless to say, this has been an expensive adventure for this family. We are proud to call Miles, Brandon and Hiedi Kadlec our 2018 Kade’s Klassic Family. Let’s join together and help them out!!!.
